On 25th November 1935 Axel Wilhelm Holm and Frederik Jørgen Buch founded the limited company Buch & Holm A/S. The two young men got in touch with each other through an advertisement in the newspaper. Frederik Jørgen Buch was looking for a business partner and co-investor to start his own business. The company’s concept was simple: importing and selling surgical instruments.
Last year Buch & Holm was celebrating its 90th anniversary. The book "It´s All About" is about our 90 year history, who we are and what we want to achieve.

ISO CERTIFICATE
Buch & Holm is quality certified according to ISO 9001:2015, to ensure consistent and high quality for all our customers. Our quality policy is a significant focal point, and we operate according to a meticulously documented quality management system that ensures you receive the best service, advice, and support.
We are environmentally certified according to ISO 14001:2015, to ensure that we act in an environmentally responsible manner and can document this, so you can shop with us confidently while also considering the environment. Likewise, we are occupational health and safety certified according to ISO 45001:2018, to ensure our employees have the best conditions and to ensure that we comply with applicable legislation at all times. We prioritize safety!
BIOSIKRING (CBB)
Furthermore, Buch & Holm is approved by the Center for Biosafety and Biodefense and has permission to trade in controlled equipment, which includes bioreactors, shaker bags, freeze dryers, glove boxes, class III laminar flow benches, etc.
MDR
Buch & Holm is registered with the Danish Medicines Agency and is MDR-approved to supply medical electrical equipment in accordance with class IIa and IVD. To maintain an MDR approval from a manufacturer, it is required that the distributor is locally approved by the Medicines Agency. MDR imposes stricter requirements for documentation, risk assessment, and clinical testing, especially for high-risk equipment. This ensures that products are safe and effective before they reach patients. MDR requires traceability via UDI (Unique Device Identification) and imposes obligations on manufacturers, importers, and distributors regarding responsibility and documentation throughout the product's lifecycle. Please note that this approval does not cover consumables - all our consumables marked with IVD on the packaging are labeled and are for research use only.

For at kunne opretholde en MDR-godkendelse fra en producent, kræves det at distributøren er godkendt lokalt af lægemiddelstyrelsen.
